Boat trip & anxiety?

later this week im supposed to stir on a boat trip with my university to another island.
im quite startled though cos i dont like boats but the basic problem is that my grandad passed away recently and everything around the island reminds me of him and i sometimes start to feel comparatively panicky.
im not sure whether to go or not as this trip is significant for my exam.
the counsellor said i shouldnt go as im unawares for it but my mum says i should move about as ill wallow in myself.

any ideas on what i should do please?Boat trip & anxiety?
Wow you are surrounded by a rough spot. You should follow your heart. Who knows you better than yourself? Only you know how you surface. In time you will heal over your Granddad's passing but no reason to rush it and plow come first first in an mortified situation. As far as fear of boat rides, you might speak to your doctor as to why you hold the anxiety and even try a low dose of anxiety med or maybe purely speaking with a counselor something like it might help. Allow yourself space to grieve for your granddad and don't be afraid to acknowledge near are some areas in our lives we struggle near. Sometimes those fears go away on their own. Best of luck to you.
Well it sounds approaching you have phobic anxiety. you stipulation to learn to overcome the phobia inorder to do away with the anxiety. You should only stir if you are ready and consider you will be able to enjoy control of yourself. the main entity to remember is to stay calm and try and focus your mind on something bar the boat. You will not gain anything from the trip if you are going to panic throughout. However, if you swot to control your mind and deal beside your phobia you will overcome the anxiety.
