Are croc shoes desperate for your spine/back?

I heard from someone that croc shoes are doomed to failure for your back because it puts your treat lower than your toes. Is there any truth to this? If so, why do nurses and individuals with fund problems wear them? And why have I hear that it relieves their back misery?

All I know is that they are ghastly for fashion!
I freshly think they're fugly. Even if they could give support to my back, I would never buy into that in-thing.
